Some sketchyness

I scanned in some pages of my sketchbook the other day and found some old sketches I really liked...SO. I decided to throw some color on them! :D Enjoy!

Nikita_Expressions and Color Studies

I finished the expressions challenge from my last post. I also went ahead and played with Nikita's colors. In her story, she dyes her hair brown to hide her identity...so I was playing with that :)

This piece will be a new addition to my portfolio :3

NiKita's Expressions - Redo

Last semester we were supposed to take a character and draw 5 expressions for them 5 different ways (like 5 different angry faces, happy faces, ect). Well, this "25 essential expressions" meme has been floating around deviantART since 2007 and I've always been meaning to do it. With the senior career fair (Directions) exactly one week away, I'm working on portfolio pieces and decided to take on this project.

I think that these expressions are turning out far better than the last ones (mainly because I'm not rushing with these like I did with the others). I think it will allow for a better portfolio piece :) These are the sketches - later I'll upload the finished version.

CCAD Art Sale

Hey Everyone!

John and I just wanted to thank all of you who were able to make it to the Art Sale at the Columbus College of Art & Design today! It was a PLEASURE meeting all of you! (you can find John here: http://jpomo.blogspot.com/)

I was really surprised at how well my charms sold! But I'm happy for it! I'm glad all of you liked them and I know that some went before other's could get to them. If you would like a charm made or if you would like to commission me, please contact me via email at jmiera.1@go.ccad.edu

My business cards also went like crazy! A lot of you asked where I got them done so I thought I'd do a collective shout out to Jak Prints in Cleveland. They did an absolutely amazing job with them! Please check them out if you ever need something printed :)

As mentioned, I AM open to commission with both traditional and photography work, but probably won't be able to be in full swing until after graduation in about 3 weeks, if you have any questions though, please feel free to contact me.

I look forward to hearing from you!
Jessica Miera

PS - I also would like to mention that within the next week and a half I will be updated my portfolio for CCAD's Directions - an annual career fair for graduating seniors of all majors. It's going to be Wednesday, the 25th and I'm hoping to make a lot of contacts. If you're an attending company, please stop by and take a gander! My new film/demo reel will include projects done at my internship (from HotBed Media, Inc) and other's such as a PSA for Columbus BalletMet and animations/infographics for Insight Bank. Thanks!

CHARMS

I have finally photographed and uploaded all of my charms!! However, I am only going to upload them onto my Tumblr and (eventually) onto my deviantART pages. SO: if you want to look at them all individually, you can check them out here via my tumblr: http://jmiera.tumblr.com/

I will add the deviantART link after I've uploaded them there :)

These little guys are made from sculpey and will be sold at my school's art sale on April 14th :)

Coyote in Beige

I finished the Coyote Puppies and Coyote & Fawns pieces :) I also tweaked the original pencil work for Traditional Yote. All three of these pieces will be available as prints at my school's art sale next weekend :D
