Siblings Update

Worked on "Siblings" today (I posted the sketch a couple of posts back). I was in the air about whether I wanted to take a Klimt or a Mucha approach to it...but ultimately just decided to go with Klimt. So far it's a lot of fun! Here's hoping I can finish it soon!

NiKita, Kir, and Anya belong to me. Those pictures on the left are reference. The three on the far left are by Klimt himself while the ones on the right are from the opening title sequence of Elfen Lied (such a beautiful opening!)

Insight Bank Logo Dots thing

My thesis class is currently working on two projects. One is with the BalletMet here in Columbus (we'll be doing a 30sec PSA) and the other is with a local bank named Insight.

Insight bank wants some short animations and info/motion graphics for their locations (to play in various places throughout the location). We've been brainstorming and this is what I've come up with so far. These are just really simple storyboards.

Eventually, I'd like this to be a 15sec piece that's just a sort of fun little interlude between longer animations. I imagine this being done in 2D or 3D animation so that we can really give life to the letter "I" characters.

I pitch this on Friday, along with everyone else, so we'll see what they think :)

New Banner Process

Here's the process of my new banner (sketch, lines, and finished colors without text).

This is the most detailed color work I've done in quite a long time. I love working like this, but it just takes too much time for me to get any of my school projects done on time if I color like this (at least that's how i feel). This is only 915x300 PIXELS and I've been working on it for like...6 hours heh.

Guess I should practice coloring to get faster XD

Also, here's a sketch of what I've been working on lately in regards to Aviris. I don't have the designs for Nikita's siblings (Kir and Anya) figured out yet. This was my first time giving them some sort of form. Likely, they will change in appearance a little bit as development progresses heh:

Hero

Something I drew in the labs tonight. I really liked it while it was a sketch. Then I did the linework and my volumes just went BLOOP and died :(

This is Cirino playing hero (and looking slightly effeminate) in front of Nikita (who obviously thinks she can handle whatever's going on.

I'm still trying to come up with a design for Cirino that I like...did you know that mixing horse and human anatomy is a betch? :)
